Community Against Preventable Injuries |

More British Columbians under the age of 45 are killed each year by preventable injuries than any other cause. The Community Against Preventable Injuries is committed to change; providing the tools to reduce injury in your community. They have developed a provincial, multi-media, multi-touchpoint social marketing campaign designed to make British Columbians aware of the magnitude of the issue and the multitude of situations where injuries can be prevented. |

National Day of Mourning |
|
Observed annually on April 28th, the National Day of Mourning commemorates workers who have been injured, killed or suffer illness as a result of occupational accidents and hazards. This day of observance was instituted upon the passing into legislation of the Workers Mourning Day Act in December 1990. Since that time, various events are organized each year by labour organizations across the country are to express remembrance for the family, friends and colleagues who have suffered in carrying out workplace duties. |

The Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA) is the leading organization dedicated to cooperative occupational safety, health and environmental management systems. The VPPPA is a member-based association, providing a network of over 1,600 companies and worksites that are involved in or in the process of applying to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) or the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) and other government agencies that are developing or implementing cooperative recognition programs. |
